Thomas Moore is the author of the bestselling book Care of the Soul and fifteen other books on deepening spirituality and cultivating soul in every aspect of life. He has been a monk, a musician, a university professor, and a psychotherapist, and today he lectures widely on holistic medicine, psychotherapy, and ecology. He also writes fiction and music and often works with his wife, an artist and yoga instructor. He writes regular columns for Resurgence, Spirituality & Health, and Beliefnet.com.
Dr. Moore received a Master's degree in theology from the University of Windsor in Canada, then went to Syracuse University for a Ph.D. in religion. There, blending religion, psychology, and the arts, “I received exactly the education I needed.”
Dr. Moore is married to the artist Joan Hanley. They live in New England and have a daughter, Siobhan, and a son, Abraham.
